A Visit To Prescott...

A couple of weekends ago we drove two hours to Prescott to get away from the heat and to do something different. Jonathan took Friday off so we left Thursday night and stayed two nights.

We loved our hotel, we stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn. It was like a vacation condo rather then a hotel. It was modern, brand new and had a separate bedroom which was great because we could put Chloe to bed and hang out in the living room without waking her...

We went to a small but fun zoo in Prescott. The great part is that you can get extremely close to the animals and no one was there. We felt like we had the whole little zoo to ourselves! We got to watch the bears feeding time, they hide the food all over and then let him out to find his food. It was pretty neat, I have never been so close to a bear. They always seem so far away at most zoo's. Chloe kept pointing and saying dog....

We went to a cute little cafe and Chloe loved the pickles and strawberries with whip cream!

Downtown Prescott has an open lawn/park area that Chloe loved. She ran around picking up leaves, watching dogs and waving at people passing by...

Meet Maverick...

Once again at her one year appointment Chloe was off the chart in height and in the 75th-90th percentile for weight.

The Big 30!!!

Friday the 28th of August was my 30th Birthday! My amazing mother watched Chloe while Jonathan and I took a romantic walk along the ocean and ate dinner while watching the sun set... I thought it was already the perfect night until later that evening I was shocked to see all my brothers sitting at a table waiting to wish me a happy birthday. It was such a nice surprise to see them, I was wondering why none of my brothers had called me on my birthday! Thanks mom!!!

A Trip To The Beach...

Thursday the 27th we drove down to the San Diego area and stayed at Hotel Del Coronado to celebrate Chloe's first birthday and my 30th! The hotel was amazing, absolutely beautiful... It was Chloe's first time to the beach and she loved it. The above pictures are from Thursday night when we arrived, we took Chloe on stroll through Coronado Village and then ate outside by the beach. The homes around the village were so cute and cozy...an ideal beach home!

11 Months on 7/26/09

Loves the outdoors

What is Chloe up to these days...

~Walking full time (she started at 10.5 months and has now got it down)
~Talking...dada all the time, mama (mainly when she is hungry and tired) and dog

~Sleeps from 6:30pm until 6:30am and takes 2 naps

~Loves Food: Some of her favorites include cheese, chicken, grapes, blueberries, bananas, bread, pizza, green beans and yogurt

~Waves hello and goodbye

~Has 6 teeth (almost 7)

~Claps

~Gives Kisses

~I say... "Chloe what's in your mouth" and she opens it, "Where is Chloe" and she will come to me or look and smile, "Chloe where is your nose" and she grabs her nose or mine, "Chloe how old are you" and she holds up her pointer finger (my mom taught her the last two)

~I ask her if she wants her water and she looks around for her sippy and goes and gets it. I ask if she wants her paci and she laughs in excitement.

~Knows what ball and duck mean and will point to them when asked

~Holds the phone up to her ear

~Loves to dance
~Gives high fives

~Plays peek-a-boo (she will cover her eyes or hide behind something and pop out)

4th of July...

This year was a mellow 4th of July... Jonathan's sister and fiance came over to our new house and had a BBQ!

Chloe had her 9 month appointment today... She is 20lbs. and 30 Inches long!!! She was off the charts...

Kisses In The Pool With Daddy...

My 9 Month Old Stinker...

9 Months 5-26-09

Over the past month Chloe started crawling, pulling up on everything, eating 'real' food, the top two teeth came in and she began screaming... Yes, she's a screamer! She screams in joy and when she doesn't get her way. If I take something away she can't have or I wont let her pull up on something that is dangerous she lets out an ear piercing scream...forget crying she just screams at the top of her lungs. I always called her my little sas-ball, but now she's our sassy stinker with an attitude. Don't you love that expression in the picture, it says it all...

Starting to Crawl...

Though she falls a lot she is definitely mobile now... I am figuring out that a lot of stuff needs to be moved in our house. I am so proud of her, she is getting so big.

Happy 8 Months...

8 Months on 4.26.09

What's happening at 8 Months:

Trying to Crawl-

She goes from Sitting to crawl position, takes a couple crawls forward and falls. She also pushes up into crawl position from her belly. She is so close and I think she will get it down any day.

Solids-

Loves her veggies, were still having trouble with fruits. She hates bananas but will eat applesauce, pears and a blueberry/pear oat mix finally.

Starting Finger Foods-

We just started with the Gerber cheerios and little pieces of toast and she loves it. She actually chews the food with her two little teeth and gums, it's so funny. We were scared at first thinking she might not know what to do and start choking but she was so ready, she ate like a pro...

Talking Lots-

Still dadadada...dadadadada.... all day...

Grampy Thomas and K-bob Visit...

My father and brother Kaleb came out for an extended weekend from Kentucky. It was great seeing them and Chloe loved K-bob!


We went to the Casa Grande Ruins... We had a great time together but it turns out the ruins aren't so great!

We had the most fun just hanging out by the pool. Chloe wanted to get in so bad but it was a little too cold for her...

Chloe's First Kiddie Pool...

Grampy Thomas got Chloe her first kiddie pool and she loved it, she had so much fun splashing the water and playing with her duckies... She is definitely a water baby.

I love that tongue, she stuck it out every time she splashed.

Matching Mohawks...

Jonathan recently shaved his head and halfway through the process he had a mohawk like Chloe. I had to capture their matching hairdo's...

Everyday Chloe is becoming more and more a daddy's girl... She gets a big smile every time he enters a room and fusses when he leaves... She adores her daddy!

A Day In The Park...

Last weekend we went to the park and had a picnic. She loved sitting in the fresh air playing with her toys.

She also enjoyed the baby swing. The sunglasses didn't stay on for long...

A long day at the park... She fell asleep on the way home!

Lucky In Love...We Met On St. Patty's!

We met on St. Patty's and quickly fell in love! This year we celebrated our first meeting two years ago!

Jonathan and I met on St. Patty's day in San Francisco at the Irish Bank... At the time I lived in Carmel/Monterey and he lived in Danville (Bay Area), which happened to be where my parents lived... He convinced me that the next time I was up visiting my parents I needed to let him take me out... My friends and I gave him a hard time at first calling him baby Johnny because he was younger then me. I new there was a spark from the beginning though so I took a chance and went out with him a couple weeks later and I am so lucky I did... Below are the pictures of our lucky first meeting...

Ostrich Festival...

The festival was a little too crowded for our taste, but we really enjoyed sitting in the shade and listening to the Grass Roots live with our little Chlo-bear and Jonathan's grandparents.

Desert Botanical Gardens...

Blown glass art was displayed among the various cacti. At night the glass lights up in the desert shining on the cacti. We were there during the day, but hope to go back at night. It's supposed to be very romantic!

Butterfly Exhibit...
1100 big beautiful butterflies fly all around you. I wasn't sure if Chloe would notice them, but she stared in amazement.

A Neighborhood Stroll...

We recently went for a stroll through the neighborhood and feed the ducks... We are so happy we moved to Arizona, we love are new home!

Weekend Fun in Tucson...

My brother Chase is going to college down in Tucson and my mom was visiting him for the weekend, so we went down to have some fun family time...

It was Chloe's first time in the pool and she loved it...

She wasn't so excited about the baby sun glasses I got her until she figured out how to put them in her mouth...

We went to the UofA Tucson basketball game vs. Stanford and she was the best cheerleader there...

We also went to the Colorado Rockies spring training game in Tucson.

The beautiful sunset on our drive back home. What a great weekend...

6 Month Well Check-Up

Chloe had her 6 month check up with the doctor yesterday. She is still a big girl! She weighed 18 pounds which put her in the 90th percentile. She was in the 97th percentile for height, just shy of 28 inches long. I tried to get her to smile for the camera, but she was too busy playing with her hair ribbons. She is probably still mad about those horrible shots!

Chloe thinks she is so big! She loves to stand, I think she wants to skip crawling and start walking.

6 Months and Up To No Good...

Today Chloe is 6months old and she has mastered her walker! She moves all over the house looking to grab anything... Here she is stretching, grunting and leaning to get the picture of mommy and daddy. I didn't get a picture but once she got the picture, she threw it on the floor and went back for another...up to no good!

Chloe's Scrunch Face...

When Chloe laughs now she makes this super cute scrunch face. I love it! If you look close you can see her two bottom TEETH!!!

Going on stroller rides through the neighborhood. She loves to kick up her feet and lounge while mommy pushes her around in the beautiful sunny Arizona weather.
